Next Meeting Tuesday October 9th at 6:00pm

The next meeting of the Maine Flash Platform User Group will be on October 9th at 6:00pm at the offices of Penobscot Bay Media, LLC, in Camden, Maine. Penobscot Bay Media has moved up the street to 51 Mechanic Street, Suite 300. This is the old Kodak Center building, for those familiar with the area. There is plenty of free parking next to the building.

We will be discussing a bunch of news from Adobe this week from the MAX conference in Chicago. Chris Backiel will be sharing some first-hand info. And we'll take a look at some of the new things out from Adobe this week.

Remember, the more meetings you attend, the better your chances of winning a free software package from Adobe. The next big drawing is scheduled for December. Also, please join us to see, and borrow from, our ever-increasing group library.

Please contact Kirk Holbrook (kholbrook[at]gwi[dot]net), if you would like more information. This meeting could be shared via Adobe Acrobat Connect (formerly Macromedia Breeze), but since it's a limited demo kind of thing, in-person would be a better experience.

Russell sprague's Gravatar You mid-coast people and your mid-coast location...since this seems to be the only FPUG in maine, I would love to come to meetings, but the drive from Portland is a little too far, Is there a middle ground?

Kirk Holbrook's Gravatar Hi Russel. It's interesting that you say that. Most people in the Midcoast say the same thing about Portland! Anyway, feel free to drop me a note if you'd like to join us, but can't make the drive. We'll try to hook you up via Adobe Acrobat Connect (formerly Macromedia Breeze). Of course this works better for some meetings than it does for others. Also, I live in near Augusta, so a drive to Portland is the same time as a drive to Camden for me. I have talked with the folks at MESDA (now TechMaine) about meeting there (in Westbrook) sometimes. We've got to work out some more details on that, though, at this point.
