CF8 Meeting Wrap-up

Well, we had a little bit smaller turnout for the ColdFusion 8 Release Party, than the one we had for Adobe CS3, but we had a good time.

We watched a great, pre-recorded presentation by Jason Delmore, ColdFusion Product Marketing Manager at Adobe. It was an overview of CF8 and had some nice code examples, too. FYI Ben Forta's pre-recorded presentation had some technical problems, so we could not use it.

Chris Backiel was the big winner of the night. He takes home a free copy of ColdFusion 8 Standard (thanks Ed!). John Root won a free copy of Foundeo's Image Effects for CF8 (thanks Pete!). Bruce Bird took home a Power Squid, and we also gave away a couple computer games and some USB flash drives. Thanks to everyone who showed up. And thanks to Ed and Adobe for the budget to get the extra food and prizes.

Thanks also, to Marsee at O'Reilly and Cheryl at Friends of Ed/Apress for supplying some extra books for raffle. Everyone took home a free book, and we had some left over for the group library, too.

Remember, the more meetings you attend the better chance you have of winning some great Adobe software. All are welcome.
